8199.97 - Grammia sp.
I sent the photos to Chris Schmidt at the Canadian National Collection. Chris is the expert on Grammia and author of our modern checklist for Grammia and Arctiinae. His response: "I've never seen a Grammia that looks like this, even given the variation in incorrupta and nevadensis - there is a small chance that this is an abberation, but since no species from the Edwards Plateau even come close to this, it is quite possibly something new. I'd highly encourage the photographer to collect some next season! As you probably know, there are numerous endemics from the Edwards Plateau, and this may be another one."
