On the ground, on a patch of dry cut lawn, there was many planthoppers close together. Some of them were dark grey with white bands and other with dark brown bands. Others were very pale brown. There was a nymph with shorter wings.

The white bands are intersegmental membrane - the abdomen on this female is swollen with eggs, exposing the membrane.
