Sorry, I really have no clue about this one.
Any help with ID would be appreciated.

Rove beetle, Stenus sp.
Neat! Do you have any more shots? These little rove beetles are best known for their jet propulsion system. Those found around the margin of lakes and streams often escape to the surface of the water, excreting a surfactant from their abdomen that lowers the surface tension and drives them forward! They specialize in preying upon springtails, and have a lower "lip" that shoots out ala a dragonfly nymph, and seizes the surprised victim before it can jump away.

Rove beetle ?
What about rove beetle?

Hazard a guess
Rove beetle (Staphylinidae), indeed. If I had seen this one in Europe I would hazard the guess of subfamily Steninae, because of the large bulging eyes. Maybe something to ook in to?
