White and Black moth_unidentified - Conchylodes ovulalis
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA
August 8, 2013
We have never seen a moth like this one. It looks similar to a Clio Tiger Moth, but the stripe pattern on the wings is wrong...and Clio's aren't native to PA. I've searched but I can't figure out what kind of moth this is.

Zebra Conchylodes Moth (Conchylodes ovulalis)
My brother-in-law identified this for me. I'm surprised I haven't seen it before on my property! The larvae feeds on Asters, Daiseys and Sunflowers. I have all of those planted on my property. I'd love to have more of these around, they're so beautiful.
