Cuterebra fontinella
This is a Cuterebra fontinella bot, it is a parasite of deer mice and white footed mice, Peromyscus. You have two subspecies in WI and I can't quite tell which this is. If you have any other shots showing the back of the fly or the face it might help. One uses deer mice and the other uses white-footed mice. One is C. fontinella fontinella, the other is C. fontinella grisea. Adults are common, yet rarely observed. So a good eye to spot it. I am looking for specimens of C. f. grisea if you happened to have collected it, to work on the dna of the species.
