Bee Fly - Villa

Bee Fly - Villa
Marion; Indian Creek Elementary., Linn County, Iowa, USA
August 13, 2013
Found buzzing around white flowered shrub, Hey, just curious, but do bee flies have a preferance for white? I've just noticed that the ones I've found were on white flowers, white gravel, etc. Thanks for the input.

RE: The color white
I don't see many of them feeding, but I tend to concentrate on yellow flowers. There were bunches out a couple days ago, sort of swarming. I saw only two feeding; both were on white flowers, but they're predominant here now.
