Unknown insect on my tree! - Neotibicen canicularis Rockland, Ontario, Canada, Eastern Ontario, Ontario, Canada
30 mins after initial shots were taken....i went back to find this. It was now OUT of what apparently a shell...and winged!! I also found a small round hole in the dirt at the base of the tree where it appears to have emerged from. Is it true that these insects stay underground for up to 17 yrs??
