Striped Ground Cricket - Allonemobius fasciatus - female

Striped Ground Cricket - Allonemobius fasciatus - Female
Amherst, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
October 25, 2004
Shot in a recently mown field near our house. We've had some sunny days to break up the approaching cool fall season, and there were hundreds of these little crickets scurrying and singing in this field.

This species is very similar to A. socius, the Southern Ground Cricket, but here in Mass., only A. fasciatus is present.
