When I saw these I thought they might be different. They were in a small colony of at least 30, under some loose bark.

 
Then the queen was no so "young"...
as I thought. She is actually the queen of a small, but established, colony. As we say in French, "Rome is in Rome again" :-).

Dolichoderus taschenbergi - new for BG
An unmistakable species of this genus in North America, as it is the only one with a jet black color (sometimes more brownish in the South). A dealated female or young queen (left) together with a worker (right).
Were these both individuals the only ones? If so, this would be quite an unusual situation, and even an enigma.
