caterpillar nest? - Hyphantria cunea
Vancouver, Clark County, Washington, USA

I noticed this today and was wondering what type of caterpillar(?) these are? I've seen them around before just never this close to home and with the macro lens on my camera, this close. I always thought they were for some very large spider.
