Spittlebug? colony in gelatinous nest - Clastoptera
Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina, USA

Size: ~4mm
This was part of a long nest with a dozen or so nymphs in it. There was only a little foam, and the
nymphs were submerged in a clear gelatinous substance, apparently breathing through their "tails."
There were several such nests on this wild grapevine.
