Grn G-hopper - Syrbula montezuma - female

Grn G-hopper - Syrbula montezuma - Female
Madera Canyon, Santa Rita Mts., Pima County, Arizona, USA
September 4, 2006
Size: ~25-30mm
Can anyone help with ID - I looked in guide, but lots of hoppers and computers way too slow.

Female Syrbula montezuma.
Nice image of a female Syrbula montezuma, a type of slant-faced grasshopper in the Acrididae family. Males are much smaller, and brown with ivory markings.

Thanks
Eric - it really was a striking hopper - the only one like it I've seen.

Lovely, moved to guide
A lovely image, it is moved to the guide--now we have a male and female here.
