Clouded Skipper - Lerema accius

Clouded Skipper - Lerema accius
Catalina St. Park, Pima County, Arizona, USA
October 12, 2006
Pretty sure this is a Clouded Skipper, Lerema accius, and will move to species page if Tony or someone else will confirm. Will get AZ on the map - way west of other localities for Bugguide.

Moved
Moved from Butterflies.

think so
Bob,

I see lots of these in NC, I think your right as I can't think of anything out west that would match it from above. See my page on Clouded Skipper at http://www.rlephoto.com/skippers/clouded01.html

Agreed
But note a possible slight exception, Randy. Wandering skipper in costal Southern California.

costal?
Couldn't resist a little ribbing about that one... :)

Costal, defined
The area around Costco and Cost Plus stores, but only those in southern California and in proximity to salt water.

Chuck, I deserved that.

No, really...
Look up "costal" in the dictionary and you'll see why I phrased that the way I did... :)

Pun alert! Pun alert!
I should have known, and the word did look somewhat familiar. Quite funny!
