Gold wasp with opaque black wings - Trogus
West Lake Nature Preserve, Portage, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, USA
Size: 1.25"
Antenna seem too long for a Carolina Red Wasp. More of a yellow/gold color than brown or red. Was moving fast trough the grass.

The scutellum looks a bit more pyramidal, so this may instead be T. vulpinus. This trait is most easily seen from the side.
