A Fly with Fungus for Washington!

A Fly with Fungus for Washington!
Fall City, King County, Washington, USA
October 14, 2006
Size: 1cm
I found this fly at the end of a piece of grass at a Pumpkin patch on a farm. I had read about this fungus in a book called "Parasite Rex" by Carl Zimmer. Not a good book for identifying parasites, but more of an essay discussing various examples of parasitism and how they have shaped their surroundings.
I liked it, anyway...:)
