A Tucson Inhabitant - Melanoplus lakinus - Female
Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA
August 28, 2013
Wandering around the grounds of the Arizona Inn (cheaper in August) on our first afternoon, I chanced upon this grasshopper(?) which allowed me to take a couple of shots before flying away. I found it lurking about just below a couple of different conifers (please do not ask which species!). Can anyone identify it, please?

Many Thanks!
Thank you very much David.
