Leptoglossus fulvicornis
I have a suspicion now that these are Leptoglossus fulvicornis. I have gathered a small group to watch them grow. I also found another group of nymphs on the fruit of the same Southern Magnolia tree of a younger instar. I will post some pictures as they change if it will be helpful with future ID's.

Unless you have reared these nymphs to adults...
...or you've captured photos of nymphs and adults together on the same plant, I don't believe the move to species is justified. There are other species of
Leptoglossus
in SC, and nymphs are tricky even for experts.

reared
I have indeed reared L. fulvicornis several times over the years, and you are correct, Leptoglossus nymphs would be very difficult to tell apart from one another. I am even rearing some currently. Lol
