Slug Caterpillar - Lithacodes fasciola

Slug Caterpillar - Lithacodes fasciola
Catoctin Mountains, Frederick County, Maryland, USA
September 4, 2003
Size: around 1/4"
Found on Oak.
Seems to be a Yellow-shouldered Slug, but not sure.
I'm also curious about those cylindrically shaped objects toward the far right side of its body.
(see enlarged version.)
