Fly - Pollenia - Male
Clarenville, N48º09.817 W53º57.978 (WGS84), Trinity Bay, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada
October 17, 2006
Size: Estimated 9mm body length
This fly was feeding on some weeds in the front yard of my in-law's house about 2:00 PM today. The temperature was about 10ºC. Can anyone provide a genus?

The curly golden hairs
(at least the few that remain) suggest genus Pollenia in the Calliphoridae.
