Sarcophaga

Sarcophaga
Berkeley, California, USA

Moved
Moved from Flesh Flies.

Bristly
With all these stout bristles, my first thought is Tachinidae.

If the arista is plumose, then it might be in Muscidae or even Sarcophagidae (but still possibly Tachinidae, since some Tachinids have the arista plumose).

Probably Sarcophaga.
This is a wonderful image, but the angle makes it difficult for a non-dipterist like me to easily tell what it is. I would bet on Sarcophaga, though.

Looks like Sarcophaga to me
Thanks for your comments, guys.
