I have flipped through Beadle & Leckie a few times thinking that I should be able to find this but it has so far eluded me.

7417 - Disclisioprocta stellata
Knowing that it was a geometrid moth I found it easily on this page in less than a minute: Walking Through the Families at MPG. (no rsvp, thanks)

Bob, thanks for the suggestion. I do use MPG (and think it is a great resource) but I have some color vision issues that make moths particular tough for me, particularly when trying to walk though similar taxa. Because of that I benefit a lot from sources that explicitly name similar species and/or point out defining characteristics.

That said, as I was trying to repeat your experiment I did find an ID for another moth that I needed. :)
