Cottonwood Leaf Beetle - Chrysomela scripta

Cottonwood Leaf Beetle - Chrysomela scripta
Auburn, Alabama, USA
October 30, 2004
I am curious as to whether this is one of the leaf beetles (Family Chrysomelidae)? Length = 3/8"

Nice photo, moved to guide
I've moved this to the guide page for the species, and changed the photo caption to indicate the identification. Nice photo. I've been enjoying the work you've been submitting very much.

Cottonwood leaf beetle
This is a cottonwood leaf beetle, Chrysomela scripta, indeed in the family Chrysomelidae. The pattern of spots varies somewhat, but this is a pretty classic example. Nice work:-)
