Hansa rose gall and larvae - Diplolepis

Hansa rose gall and larvae - Diplolepis
Kingston, Ontario, Canada
October 9, 2006
Size: N/A
There were quite a few galls I found on hansa roses in my backyard. What species produces galls like these? I was thinking a type of wasp and I came up with Diplolepis rosae when doing an internet search. Anybody have an idea?

Moved
Moved from Galls. Diplolepis, yes, but not D. rosae. There are 40+ types of galls on roses, each made by a different species in this genus.
