Identification
Black and shiny with two transverse yellowish or orangish bands. Sometimes these bands are reduced. Underside all dark,

differentiating from the similar Glischrochilus quadrisignatus, which is reddish-brown underneath (1).
Habitat
Adults found under bark of injured or dying trees, also come to sap, decaying fruit.
