Burying beetle with mite passenger - Nicrophorus orbicollis
Stoneham (Stone Zoo), Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA September 20, 2013 Size: 30 mm
I found an insect trap full of dead flies and moths, with about 8 of these burying beetles inside. I dumped it out and photographed the beetles as they scurried for cover. This is the best image I got.
