Huachuca Giant Skipper - Agathymus evansi
Miller Canyon, Huachuca Mts., Cochise County, Arizona, USA

Several of these patrolling flowing stream in the center of the canyon at lower elevations - about 5,000 feet. Caught one in a hat to look at upper wings to distinguish from the other two possible species. Based on an inspection of the uppers, I believe this to be "evansi," the Huachuca Giant Skipper.

Agathymus neumoegeni
Pretty sure it's an Orange Giant Skipper. One good clue is tan between black on fringe of wings. Markings are usually more contrasting on Huachuca Giant Skipper. The dark line following the vein in the middle of the hind wing is usually present to some degree in the Orange also, but absent (always?) in the Huachuca. Instead in Huachuca there is often a pale dot in the middle of the hind wing (sometimes tiny and faint, sometimes connected to the margin by a white bar).

Tony - it's always exciting to find a previously unseen butterfly, and
doubly so if you can get a pic. I saw my first Chiricahua white while on this sojurn, but couldn't get a pic...one out'a two ain't bad.
