Black and yellow spider - Argiope aurantia
Mastic Beach, Suffolk County, New York, USA

Size: 3-4 inches
This spider had a very nice web in a potted avacado tree on our deck. It was not aggressive and remained there several days.

What you have here
is a black-and-yellow argiope.
