Libellula saturata - male

Libellula saturata - Male
Eaton Wash, alt. ~1220 ft., just downstream of the Eaton Toll Bridge; Eaton Canyon Natural Area., Los Angeles County, California, USA
October 25, 2006
Was patrolling a long stretch of this part of the stream, now and then encountering another male which it chased high into the air. When landing, used generally the same set of twigs (as opposed to the Red Rock Skimmer, Paltothemis lineatipes, which alights more or less on the same set of boulders in or along the water).
