Over the course of 30 years, Karl Stephan collected some 3,500 beetle species in Latimer County, Oklahoma.

Amazingly, Stephan's Latimer Co., Oklahoma list exceeds (by 600 spp!) the Checklist of the Coleoptera of Oklahoma compiled by Don Arnold of the Oklahoma State University.

(Note, Stephan's Latimer Co. list is a work-in-progress in terms of bringing it up to current taxonomy.)
