Perhaps I Should Express More Uncertainty
This was/is a difficult identification for me. I was thinking that if I submit to ID Request, no matter how certain I seem, its understood that the submission needs review (and I don't mind being corrected, I'm just cuttin' to the chase). Even if the identification was correct at some point, I don't claim to be up-to-date with current taxonomy and distribution. And check this out keeping in mind that this location could be considered to be biotically a Rocky Mountain outpost: "Butterflies in moderate to high elevations in several areas of Rocky Mts. are extremely variable, ranging from butterflies that look like typical Purplish Coppers to those that resemble Dorcas Coppers." A Field Guide to Western Butterflies second edition, Paul Opler, illustrated by Amy Bartlett Wright, Boston, 1999.

I'll review the Help section to learn more about this.

Thank you,

David.

Sorry to jump the gun
I'll move this back to ID Request, and perhaps someone will be able to confirm for you. However, you should not worry about posting to image pages when you are fairly confident, as many/most regular users review images in Recent view, and someone will likely catch an ID error if there is one, even if it's not in ID Request.

Sometimes it takes a while for users to realize they can post straight to the guide, which is what I thought was happening here. If you have an ID question, it's best to be clear about it in your comments. A question mark after your title would be sufficient. : )
