Thylacella cubana (Banks) - Thylacella cubana - female

Thylacella cubana (Banks) - Thylacella cubana - Female
San Marcos, Hays County, Texas, USA
September 27, 2013
Size: 2.5 mm
I sent this image to Ed Mockford for ID and he made me key it out for myself. It turns out to be in the Subfamily Thylaecellinae. "This is the only known species of its genus in the Western Hemisphere." (1) Caught on Washingtonia palm. Mockford verified my ID. This one lacks scales but has abundant setae.
