sabalella - as in Sabal Palm?
As I chased this moth, it would always land on a palmetto leaf several inches from a tip. As soon as the moth landed, it would quickly crawl up to the section that matched it's width.
Notice it's color also matches the dried tips of the leaf.

Hello Jeff,
I googled Homaledra sabalella, and realized I have these cats on a palm in my yard, so I collected one, and got lucky and found a pupa, so hopefully it won't be too long and we can find out. It sure does look like the pinned specimen on MPG. I never thought that mess on all the palms was caused by moth larvae, you taught me something new:) Thanks.

I
did? Great. Looking forward to seeing what you get.
