maroon/white mite - Leptus

maroon/white mite - Leptus
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
September 28, 2006
Size: 2 mm sans chelicerae
I found this good-sized patterned mite indoors walking on a plywood subfloor that had recently been stripped of carpet and padding. It appears to be the same species as this one photographed by Tom Murray.
