Colletes simulans nevadensis Swenk
species ID based in part on late flight season, host plant, apparent short malar space, tip of long prothoracic spine visible in the front view, centers of both scutum and scutellum with black hairs and large bare area, exact distribution of hairs inlcuding white basal hair bands on terga

Thanks, John

the first one I've made

The first of many, I'm sure.
Thanks; that was easy for a change. We'll work up some more!

Forewing venation...
is perfectly visible here and confirms previous ID: 2nd and 3rd submarginal cells of roughly the same size, combined with an only faintly curved "basal" vein, are another hallmark for Colletes.
