Millipede - Pseudopolydesmus branneri

Millipede - Pseudopolydesmus branneri
Sherburne, Rutland County, Vermont, USA
November 1, 2006
Size: 30mm

Thanks Rowland
It's nice to get a species id, especially on a native species.

Pseudopolydesmus branneri (Bollman)
Because of the reddish ("brick red") color of the paranota, I judge this millipede to be the native species, Pseudopolydesmus branneri (Bollman). It is one of two species of Pseudopolydesmus occurring in the northeastern US & adjacent Canada.
