Moved
Moved from ID Request. A ventral view might help ID this one to species. The reason Wiki says its range is TX & AZ is because they don't realize the name was merged (they are the same species) with Araneus pima which is recorded from OR, CA, NV, UT, AZ, NM & TX.

Harmless Orb Weaver
in the genus Araneus, maybe illaudatus?

Thank you
Aside from wiki saying "It has a rather restricted range in western Texas and eastern Arizona", that looks like it to me. Suspect the range in wikipedia is outdated. It is less 'spiny' than gemmoides, which is what i was thinking it might be. Thanks for the quick response!
