Placusa sp.? (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae)

Placusa sp.? (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae)
c. 90 km NW of Peace River, Alberta, Canada
July 9, 2010
I collected this larva from a freshly dead white spruce (Picea glauca) log in summer 2010. I believe this larval species is Placusa sp. (close to P. tachyporoides) (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae) based on Ashe's paper (1991): 'The larvae of Placusa Manneheim (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae), with notes on their feeding habits'.

Another reason that I believe this species is Placusa sp. is the most common staphylinid adult species was P. tachyporoides in early decompositional stage of white spruce log in my study site. And this larva is also the most common staphylinid larva in the same decompositional stage.

It's an aleocharine, but you'll have to look at the mouthparts to tell if it's Placusa
