Aggressive display?
I am hoping a pompilid expert will comment on the posture of this specimen. I have noticed aggravated pompilids will adopt this posture, and it sure looks menacing! Don't know if it is intentional or not, but suspect so.

pompilid
while i am no where close to an expert, i think this was its way of telling me to leave it alone. i was pretty close to it, and when i would move it would flare its wings and curl the abdomen under, which seems to be the threat posture in many pompilids i have watched. i was thinking this could be a male, but am not terribly sure.
