The reflections on the elytra
The reflections on the elytra seem to give this specimen a cordate-looking spot, but I believe (based on the right elytra) that it is really truncate along the anterior margin. That would make this Ampedus behrensi. Based on material in the Wagner/Scott Collection from BC.
