Pink-shaded Fern Moth - Callopistria mollissima? - Callopistria mollissima

Pink-shaded Fern Moth - Callopistria mollissima? - Callopistria mollissima
Lakewood, Oconto County, Wisconsin, USA
June 30, 2013
This beautiful little moth was photographed on the wall of the Forest Service's Lakewood Ranger Station after presumably being attracted to the office lights the night before. After consulting the "Peterson Field Guide to Moths of Northeastern North America" book, this sure looks like the Pink-shaded Fern Moth. Here's what has me confused: the book lists New York Fern (Thelypteris noveboracensis) as the only host plant, but the University of WI-Stevens Point Freckmann Herbarium website says that fern species is not found in WI (and the book's range map for the moth reflects this fact). Can anyone please confirm the species ID? Perhaps there is another host plant for this moth species that would allow it to live in northern WI? Thanks so much for your time and help!
