larinioides? - Larinioides sclopetarius - female

larinioides? - Larinioides sclopetarius - Female
Montrea;, Quebec, Canada
October 6, 2013
I think this is a Larinioides, but no idea which. They make webs across the windows of an old hospital building (around 100 years old) and several spiders, at different stages of maturity, make webs side by side. The webs are built in the evenings, but the spiders can be seen in them both at night and during the day (although more so at night). Some successfully over-winter as mature, or nearly mature spiders can be found in the webs from spring onwards. Any help will be appreciated.

Sclopetarius Behavior
Thanks, from your ID I have been reading about L. sclopetarius and everything fits very well- the webs side by side, the density of the population and their location on the side of a building. Thanks again for the help, it is appreciated.

They are definitely amazing!
They are definitely amazing! I live near Minneapolis. During summer I can find hundreds of them on bridge railings near the Mississippi. It's incredible!
