Ailanthus Webworm Moth - Hodges#2401 - Atteva aurea
Doddridge County, West Virginia, USA
November 6, 2006
Taken on one of the last remaining Asters which was teeming with activity. Approximately 1/4 mile from where this was found, there is a large stand of the invasive Tree of Heaven/Ailanthus alissima along the Rails to Trails. This was taken July 29th, 2005 Tree of Heaven Scroll down to the bottom and read the comment by Ben Richey. Does anyone know if the Ailanthus Webworms can eventually eradicate these invasive trees?
