Spider ID/Hi neighbor
We believe that your spider is the same as the one shown here . We found this species for the first time last Monday, (6 Nov 06) on the window at Coffee Call.
We have thoroughly enjoyed your fine photography, and appreciate your careful attention to important details.

Thanks
I find spiders very difficult to ID. I've looked through virtually all of the jumping spiders here and elsewhere and can't find one similar. I've even tried using a guide page that someone suggested and I still can't find a match.

Perhaps
the linked image was not a good match.
An immature male.

Still unsure?
The ID by the Stricklands is correct. This is a Plexippus paykulli, a very common jumper in the southeast.
I have enjoyed your excellent images as well.

Hi Don,

What are the keys you used to ID the spider?

I'm getting a little better with insects but spiders are not as easy. I can identify it as a jumper, wolf, orb weaver but rarely beyond the family level. The appearance doesn't seem to be useful in identification.

Thanks again
