grasshopper - Leptysma marginicollis

grasshopper - Leptysma marginicollis
Nags Head, Dare County, North Carolina, USA
November 2, 2006
Size: approx. 35mm
This grasshopper was found clinging to some grass on a dune on a rather windy day. The dark coloration doesn't seem to match up with any slant faced species. Any suggestions?

Moved

Leptysma marginicollis
These things really do look like Gomphocerines as apposed to Spur-throats.

Moved from Slant-faced Grasshoppers.

Not sure on species but...
it is some kind of toothpick grasshopper I believe...(Achurum)
