Garden Cross Spider for WA in November - Araneus - Female
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
November 9, 2006
Size: approx 15mm
I noticed that there weren't many Washington submissions. I found this spider today during a sun break in the evening. She was obviously separated from her hidey-hole for the winter, and after some photos, I put her in my rose bush.
I know she looks pretty orange and is without the obvious white markings, but I did look really close, and I saw the faint outlines of them on her abdomen.

Wow! She looks very different.
It will be interesting to see if Jeff confirms your ID. There are just too many Araneus for us!

I'm pretty sure...
Admittedly, I've never seen one so orange.
