Brown-orange female - Phidippus cardinalis - female

Brown-orange female - Phidippus cardinalis - Female
St. Lucie County, Florida, USA
November 8, 2013
Size: 10mm
I had orginally identified this as a P. pius, but was corrected by Dr. G.B. Edwards. He says that P. pius is a summer maturing species while P. cardinalis is a fall maturing species. The color of P. cardinalis can range from brown to red. Dr. Edwards is certain that this is P. cardinalis. This female was collected by Jeff Hollenbeck.
