What is this spider in my shed? - Araneus diadematus - Female
Cheektowaga, Erie County, New York, USA
November 1, 2013
Size: Quarter maybe bigger.
I have lived in my home for about 4 1/2 months and this is the first and only time I have seen this spider. It is a reddish color with a white strip down it's back and stripped legs. It's back end is bumpy in texture. The egg sack which you can see is a yellowish tint and not white like I'm use to seeing. Please tell me a bit about this spider. Thanks

Can't see definitively, but looks to be Araneus diadematus. You can do a search here on BugGuide for it and click on Info to learn more.
