Okanagodes gracilis? - Okanagodes gracilis - Male
Thousand Palms Oasis, Riverside County, California, USA
July 20, 2013
Size: ~3cm
These pale cicadas were calling from the saltbrush. Song consisted of a series of whispery clicks that initially had me thinking grasshoppers until I tracked this individual. Second stop on the way to the Arizona BugGuide gathering

I think you're right!
Nice pic.

Moved from ID Request.

Okanagodes gracilis
Yes, you are right; and I was wrong in identifying a pale specimen of Clidophleps vagans (Photo#128628) as this species (that was back in 2007, when I was young and ignorant).

ID
I can see what you mean by head shape, but I have to confess that my tentative ID of Okanagodes gracilis was largely based on Clidophleps vagans originally placed here!

Is the head also short on: ?
