Red Backed Jumping Spider?! - Phidippus - female

Red Backed Jumping Spider?! - Phidippus - Female
Los Angeles, Los Angeles County
November 18, 2013
Size: Nickel
I don't know if this spider is a redbacked Jumping spider. Most in images do not have fuzzy black and white striped legs. But I would like to know for certain!

Moved from Phidippus.

Phidippus sp.
This is a female Phidippus sp. It may be a P. adumbratus, but I'm not certain of the species.

Moved
Moved from ID Request. This is a Phidippus, but there are several with the red. Perhaps one of the other jumper experts can help. I've moved it to the family page.

Thank you! I hope they can! I wish I could add more photos of him on the same chain!!

Probably...
Phidippus clarus in the P. cardinalis group. Are you sure its a male? The abdomen looks too large and rounded.

i dont think so
My spider doesn't look like him on the back or the face! My spider doesn't have the teal chelicerae or the white spotting on the abdomen... the angle makes it look more round than it is. I have other photos and its oblong.
also I am not in Eastern North America.
I am in Los Angeles California ... and your suggestion is native to eastern NA. :-(
THANK YOU though!!!

P. clarus
Is widely distributed in California. It is highly variable in color and pattern. But the lack of green chelicerae is an issue for Phidippus.

P. Johnsoni
It looks much more like the P. Johnsoni but still those don't have the furry legs as much as mine does ... and also no teal jaws.
Its strange!

I just looked up the P Whitmani ... it looks kind of like that guy!!!
