Beetle - Clivina dentipes

Beetle - Clivina dentipes
Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary, Liberty, Clay County, Missouri, USA
June 22, 2013
Came to MVL in a woodland area.

Moved
Moved from Clivina.

Posted body length in milimeters would have likely either
clinched C. dentipes (largest species, most > 8 mm) or would have ruled it out. Close-up anatomic details of course are more important and more satisfying than depending on body length for separating species.

Thanks!
I double checked my photos and did not find were I put a ruler by it. Drat. Most of the time I do!

dentipes? hope our experts recognize it
